„Open Your Heart, Donate a Book“ Opens Its Nineteenth Year

Small readers already know, which book they would wish under the Christmas tree

It has been nineteen years that anonymous donors can donate to children from families in social need. The small readers go to kindergartens and primary schools mostly in Trenčín, but also in Trenčianske Jastrabie, Bánovce nad Bebravou, Stará Turá and for the second year, we will be providing books to children from the Shelter and Centre of Social Services in Prievidza.

Through the pre-Christmas project “Open Your Heart, Donate a Book”, the Trenčín Foundation reaches out to generous donors and transmits their gift in the form of a children´s book. Thanks to regular donors, we manage to provide books to more than 200 children each year. If you would like to participate in the project, do not hesitate to visit bookstores with the special corner dedicated to the “Open Your Heart, Donate a Book” project.

You can find the selected children´s books marked by an illustration from Naďa Žatková and Saša Hudecová in these bookstores in Trenčín (and Prievidza) from 14th November:

The purchased books stay in the bookstore until the moment, when the Trenčín Foundation collects them and distributes them to children through their teachers. In eighteen years, we have donated 3625 books.
