The Bench Dedicated to M. A. Bazovský Has a New Home

Trenčín Foundation sought to remind the public of some of the personalities that had lived or worked in Trenčín in an unusual manner. In cooperation with several people, artists and institutions, we installed four special benches in the wider centre of Trenčín.

The bench of Sigismund Luxembourg on the Peace Square was dedicated to the ruler, who bestowed town privileges to the town of Trenčín. The visuals of the regal crown were created by Július Bruna and Jan Hubinský.

The bench of Vojtech Zamarovský was placed on the eponymous street next to the birthplace of the traveller and author of literature of fact about the antiquity. The designer was Július Bruna, it was crafted by various artists and masters.

Small artwork dedicated to a well-known photographer Mária Urbasiówna-Holoubková was placed in front of her former studio on the Farská Street. Her final form was collaboration between Július Bruna and Rudo Cvopa.

The last bench from the series was dedicated to Miloš Alexander Bazovský and placed on the Palackého Street in front of the M. A. Bazovský Gallery in Trenčín. It was made by Juraj Oravec.

Today, several of the benches have new homes. You can sit on the Sigismund of Luxembourg bench at the Trenčín Castle. The bench of Mária Holoubková can be found in the atrium on the Housing Development Center next to the Farské stairs. The Zamarovský bench is awaiting its final placement. Finally, the Bazovský bench found happy company that we have donated to the primary school Štvorlístok on the Orechová Street in Trenčín.
